During the summer of 2016, I worked as the GIS intern for the New River Land Trust in Blacksburg, VA to aid in their conservation effort in securing conservation easements in eight counties in Virginia's New River Region. I mapped several conservation attributes over these counties to help the Land Trust identify parcels and properties that demonstrated a high conservation value and were at risk for development. Due to the sensitive and classified geospatial information I used during this internship such as layers identifying endangered species, I cannot display much of my work as it was produced for internal use only.
